London Kwanzaa

Stereo-Hype will be presenting a Kwanzaa event on Friday the 9th of December, 7-9 p.m. at Stratford Circus, London E15 1BX.

This event is free of charge.

Stereo-Hype events are produced by the East London African and Caribbean Mental Health Network.

The theme of this event is Principles for Wellbeing. It will include

- Spoken Word
- Edutainment Performance
- Panel Discussion
- Open Mic.

Kujichagulia: A Kwanzaa Celebration for School Groups

Wednesday, December 21, 2011, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Education @ the Schomburg invites teachers to come along with their students to a FREE multi-media youth program in celebration of Kwanzaa.  Kwanzaa is a holiday which celebrates the rich history and culture of African-Americans and people throughout the African Diaspora.  Kujichagulia, the principle of Self-Determination, will be the theme of this cultural presentation.  There will be a film screening and a performance of "The Karamu Feast Tale & Why Anansi's Waist Is So Small"by Something Positive Dance Company to educate and inspire students.  This presentation is geared toward elementary and middle school groups.

Charter Oak Center Kwanzaa Celebration

Hartford's biggest Kwanzaa celebration, honoring family, community and culture, presented in partnership with Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium. Kwanzaa 2011 at the American Museum of Natural History, New York

KWANZAA 2011! is a vibrant celebration that honors the seven principles of Kwanzaa with performances of song, dance, and spoken word and an international marketplace. This year’s event will feature storyteller Linda Humes as master of ceremonies, the dynamic African-Caribbean performing group Something Positive, Inc., and other exciting presenters.

KWANZAA 2011! is co-produced by Community Works, an arts and education nonprofit organization founded 20 years ago, and New Heritage Theatre Group, the oldest nonprofit black theatre company in New York. The Kwanzaa marketplace is organized by the Harlem Arts Alliance.

Free with museum admission.
